WELCOME to my blog!!

It has been approximately 2 years since I regularly updated, but recently I began missing my blogging. I have gone against "the rules of blogging" by simply naming my blog "Bridget's Ramblings". It goes against the rules because you are supposed to choose one topic that you are passionate about and write about it. Well, it just so happens that I become passionate about anything that piques my interest at any given point in time. My husband once told me my hobby is finding new hobbies.....I can't deny it!! However, I will say that my kids--currently ages 11, 8, 6, and 4--will always be a major topic you can expect to read about. Beyond the kids, my current secondary interests include running and biking....gardening will most likely be the next topic to grab my attention. But, the one thing you can count on is that I will undoubtedly ramble on about whatever I find interesting.

Update on Ryan

I don't think I have really mentioned much about Ryan's progress lately. A month or so ago I wrote about his first two word sentence. Unfortunately, he didn't really keep up the momentum from that first phrase. I found myself becoming a little discouraged. BUT! I'm so happy to now be able to write that he is getting better and better with 2 word phrases. He's working harder at repeating two word phrases; but, the best part is that he's actually coming up with several of his very own phrases. He's now at least attempting almost every word we ask him to. His speech therapist is also very proud of his progress. I decided to get a little bit of video of him talking so that I could share it on here. This video was taken Friday night. You can also see him using some of the sign language he's learned. Because his articulation needs alot of work, we still rely pretty heavily on sign language. Oh, and keep in mind you are supposed to be looking at Ryan---NOT ME! :) I was pretty much ready for bed, so keep that in mind.

On Sept 21 I started Ryan on dietary supplements. I won't go into the details on here, but I am very hopeful that maybe I'll see improvements soon. So, the video was also a way for me to record his "starting point" and allow me to track his progress--rather than rely on memory alone.
