Ryan is doing so fantastic now!!!! He has a wonderful, wonderful speech therapist at school. She really seems to know how to target the child's needs rather than just doing a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. He's saying some of the cutest things now. He's also made tremendous strides in being able to imitate speech sounds. Yesterday we were riding down the road and I was asking him to repeat a bunch of different words. He was doing a really great job so I said "Ryan, you are really talking now". He said "yeah". Then I said--Did you know you are really good at talking?---"yeah". Do you like talking? "yeah, do" There are a couple of phrases that he's just recently started using that I just LOVE to hear from him. "yeah, do" or "no, don't" are a couple. He leaves out the "I" each time but you would have to hear the inflection he uses--just sooooooo cute. Also, he recently started saying "OK, mom". So, when I ask him to do something he doesn't want to do his first response will be "no, don't" and then I get firm with him and he'll say "OK mom!!" with a really deep voice as if to say "oh, alright-----if I HAVE to". I've heard him say these things many times over the past several days, but it still makes me smile each and every time. Especially the "ok, mom" because it sounds so natural and typical of a child his age.
Kaeli LOVES to organize and plan. Lately she's been hard at work planning her 8th birthday party. She's going to have a few girls over for a sleepover. She's constantly making lists and revising the list--right down to the length of time each activity is to last. Just after I got online today to do a little blogging I decided to log into Kaeli's yahoo email account. She knows I do this and it's just to keep tabs on what kind of email she's receiving, etc. Well, this morning she had a reminder email from her yahoo calendar. Evidently she entered into her calendar that she was to "organize room" from 3:45-4:45 today. I'm guessing this is more preparation for her upcoming party. That, or she finally got tired of hearing me complain about how messy and disorganized her room is. I'm also very surprised she figured out how to use the calendar feature on her email account. She sure is growing up fast!!
WELCOME to my blog!!
It has been approximately 2 years since I regularly updated, but recently I began missing my blogging. I have gone against "the rules of blogging" by simply naming my blog "Bridget's Ramblings". It goes against the rules because you are supposed to choose one topic that you are passionate about and write about it. Well, it just so happens that I become passionate about anything that piques my interest at any given point in time. My husband once told me my hobby is finding new hobbies.....I can't deny it!! However, I will say that my kids--currently ages 11, 8, 6, and 4--will always be a major topic you can expect to read about. Beyond the kids, my current secondary interests include running and biking....gardening will most likely be the next topic to grab my attention. But, the one thing you can count on is that I will undoubtedly ramble on about whatever I find interesting.

The Dude sees people all day long that couldn't figure out how to use the calendar.
Way to go Kaeli.
