WELCOME to my blog!!

It has been approximately 2 years since I regularly updated, but recently I began missing my blogging. I have gone against "the rules of blogging" by simply naming my blog "Bridget's Ramblings". It goes against the rules because you are supposed to choose one topic that you are passionate about and write about it. Well, it just so happens that I become passionate about anything that piques my interest at any given point in time. My husband once told me my hobby is finding new hobbies.....I can't deny it!! However, I will say that my kids--currently ages 11, 8, 6, and 4--will always be a major topic you can expect to read about. Beyond the kids, my current secondary interests include running and biking....gardening will most likely be the next topic to grab my attention. But, the one thing you can count on is that I will undoubtedly ramble on about whatever I find interesting.

Sunday at the beach

Saturday ended up being a pretty bad beach day. I think we stuck it out for an hour before making the decision to head back. It was just too cool with a VERY strong wind. But, Sunday was a beautiful day for the beach! All of the following pictures are from Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised that the water temp was tolerable as well.

Here's Kaeli making a "drizzle castle" at the water's edge. This is our preferred castle since anyone can do it with little to no experience. And, even better, it's impossible to mess it up--even AJ can help!

Here's Paige just looking cute. I was hoping to get a good image of her freckles, but it's not close enough. She's has the cutest freckles and they really start popping out during the summer months. I grew up vehemently disliking my freckles so I take every opportunity possible to tell Paige and Kaeli how lucky they are to have freckles. If only I had appreciated mine the way I appreciate theirs!
We just couldn't resist getting a shot of Ryan's face covered in sand. This is probably the only 2 seconds AJ wore this hat the entire day. In fact, neither Steve nor I could remember getting this picture. I just asked Steve about it and he said he thinks he snapped it when I put the hat on him....seconds before he ripped it off.

Ryan, Paige, and Kaeli splashing in the "tidepool". Some summers the contour of the beach is just absolutely amazing for little kids. We were there during low tide and it left behind a HUGE low-lying area full of water. It's really great because the kids are able to play in it kind of like a pool. I do have to admit that by time high tide begins creeping in I'm welcoming a surge of fresh water because it gets a little concerning about the cleanliness of this stranded patch of water.

If I had to come up with a title for this picture it would be "Amazing Cooperation". I have no idea how we got lucky enough for all 4 of them to cooperate toward a common goal without any prompting from us.
